Adventures
When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me on my bike. I love bikepacking through remote corners of the world, embracing the adventure that comes with the unknown. Whether it’s battling bad weather, sleeping under a sky full of stars, or connecting with people and cultures along the way, these experiences inspire me and remind me what truly matters.
After overcoming a severe illness that lasted more than a decade and, at one point, became life-threatening, I was told that competitive sport would no longer be part of my future. Rather than accepting those limitations, I set myself a challenge: to prove that determination can achieve more than any prognosis.
In 2014, I crossed the finish line of Ironman South Africa on one of the toughest race days in the event’s history. That moment represented far more than a race result—it marked the beginning of a new chapter and ignited a deep passion for endurance sport.
Over the following years, I completed multiple Ironman events and took on some of the world’s most demanding endurance challenges, including the legendary Cape Epic mountain bike stage race. But it was beyond organized competition where I discovered my true calling.
With little experience, no real plan, and a healthy dose of curiosity, I set off on a self-supported bikepacking journey across the Western Sahara. What followed was a 3,200-kilometre adventure filled with unforgettable highs and extraordinary challenges. I got lost in a sandstorm, navigated some of the most remote landscapes on the planet, and found myself facing situations far beyond anything I could have anticipated.

When I finally reached the beaches of The Gambia, exhausted but transformed, I knew something had changed. The journey had sparked a passion for ultra-cycling, exploration, and human-powered adventure that continues to shape my life today.
Since then, adventure cycling has become far more than a sport. It is my way of exploring the world, connecting with people and cultures, and constantly redefining what is possible. Whether crossing deserts, tackling multi-day ultra-distance events, or venturing into the unknown, I am driven by the same curiosity and determination that first got me back on a bike.
Through my adventures, I hope to inspire others to challenge perceived limits, embrace uncertainty, and pursue the dreams that truly excite them. Because the most rewarding journeys rarely begin when you’re ready—they begin when you’re willing to take the first step.
My story isn’t about cycling. It’s about resilience, curiosity, and discovering what’s possible when we venture beyond the limits others place on us—and the limits we place on ourselves.
